SHOT DROP was launched in 2005. Randy Wothers, President and CEO of the company, who was a bartender for many years, came up with this innovative idea after watching many bartenders make different bomb drinks (shot glass dropped into a glass). He realized all the different obstacles the bartender had to overcome using plastic or glass shot glasses.
If the bartender was using plastic shot glasses they had to either use their finger or the customer did to push the shot glass down into the drink. If the bartender was using glass there was a lot of disadvantages including glass breakage from the shot glass being dropped into another glass, spillage, and a lot of dishwashing.
Randy’s mission was to create a shot glass with a handle that could be an advantage to the customer, the bartender and the bar owner.
